World Overview — The 16 Regions of Aidel

Published 2026-09-218 min read

Aidel is split into 16 regions with dynamic weather and day/night spawns. Here is the full region list, what each is known for, and how special Aniimo unlocks work across the map.

The continent of Aidel is divided into 16 regions, each with its own creature tables, terrain puzzles, Ley Flowers and dungeons. On top of the regional layer sit two global systems — a day/night cycle and live weather — that decide which forms of which creatures exist at any given moment. This page is the map in one view; each region's detail lives on its own page.

How regional spawns work

Two clocks decide what exists when you arrive:

  • Day/night: night forms typically share locations with day forms — a good daytime route is usually a good night route. Bring the fast leveling habit of sweeping locations twice.
  • Weather: rain, snow and thunderstorm forms replace the local population while the sky lasts. Weather-gated spawns are the backbone of the special Aniimo economy.

And the rule that turns weather from an annoyance into a tool: weather is per world instance. A friend's rainy world is your rainy-form hunting ground — captures there register in your own dex with full XP. Details in the exploration guide.

Special Aniimo — the unlock grammar

Across the map, regions hide special Aniimo: boss forms, regional exclusives, weather exclusives and iridescent variants. The unlock conditions follow a handful of patterns you will see repeated in every region guide:

  1. Weather gates. Snow-form Peekhelm in Redrock appears only in snowfall — and some snow spawns need a Fire skill to melt two snowballs first.
  2. Time gates. Night forms spawn after dark; some questlines (the Infernowolf's Fighter quest) require setting time to night to even begin.
  3. Capture-count gates. Several specials appear only after you capture 15 of a designated base creature in the area — the Phantom Flame spawns in Wolffang Ridge and Bluestone Terrace both work this way.
  4. Puzzle gates. Altar items (the golden helmet of Redrock), chest-triggered anger spawns, and ley-line phenomena all gate specific forms behind short puzzles.
  5. Ley Flower phenomena. Nourishing a region's Ley Flower can trigger the iridescent phenomenon, spawning that region's iridescent special.

One universal kindness: most bosses respawn about one minute after capture. A missed special is a minute's wait, not a week's.

Regions as progression

A sensible touring order for a new Linker:

  1. Cloudreach Meadow → Gullsong Bay → Starfall Woods — the starter arc; every spawn here feeds the beginner roadmap.
  2. Wolffang Ridge — start the three-day Fighter quest early (why), and hunt ice forms.
  3. Whalefall Shoals + Bluestone Terrace — water and stone tables, eggs, easy specials.
  4. Redrock Highlands — the special-Aniimo capital; budget real time for it.
  5. Everything else — weather-dependent sweeps as your sky (or your friends' skies) allow.

Each region page lists spawns, weather forms, special unlocks and dungeon entrances in a consistent format, so you can hop between them while planning a session. Coordinates in our guides use the community-shared map grid; treat them as starting points and sweep outward.
