Wolffang Ridge is the jagged highland where Aniimo's most famous chase begins. It hosts the ice-wolf line, the thunderstorm variant of Warwolf, capture-gated Phantom Flames — and the Fighter, the three-real-day questline that unlocks Infernowolf, the launch meta's favorite Breaker.

Common spawns

  • Icefang — the ice wolf, spawning in the corridor between the Ley Flower and the entrance of the Freezing Point dungeon. Night passes along that corridor also surface its night-form cousin spawns.
  • Frostpup — the ice pup line, on the meadow approach and near the ridge's snowy benches.
  • Cinderpup / Blazewolf — the fire line persists on the lower, drier slopes — relevant soon, because the Blazewolf Champions here are a material source (below).
  • Whistlegull — thermals over the ridgeline.

Weather forms

The thunderstorm Warwolf is the region's signature weather catch — and the reason ridge sessions should always check the forecast (or a friend's sky; the friend-world trick applies fully here).

Capture-gated specials

The ridge teaches the capture-count gate pattern — specials that appear only after you catch 15 of a designated creature nearby:

  • Phantom Flame (highland form) — appears in the Gloomflame spawn area after you capture 15 Gloomflame in that zone. The flames cluster along the warmer rock shelves; a capture sweep is minutes of work, and Gloomflame captures pay dex XP the whole way.
  • Mirawing (woodland form) — the phantom butterfly roosts in the woodland above and to the right of the ridge teleporter; sweep the forest line. (Its spawn is listed among the ridge's specials though the butterfly itself is a common-line species elsewhere.)

Bosses

  • Warwolf boss — a fixed elite among the storm benches; its capture is a clean introduction to Break-window rhythm before you attempt the region's harder prizes.
  • Various roaming elites along the ridge share the standard one-minute respawn — loop them for Champion's Seals.

The Fighter questline — start it early

The Infernowolf unlock is the ridge's main event, and its bottleneck is real-world days, not playtime:

  1. Set time to night and travel to the wolf packs on the ridge.
  2. Link your Cinderpup and speak with the small hounds among the packs.
  3. Follow the prompts to find Infernowolf itself; link the pup, talk, and choose to fight it. Swap to your strongest creature once the battle starts — the fight is meant to be won, not survived.
  4. After the fight, speak to Infernowolf again and accept the Fighter quest.
  5. The quest advances across three real days, a few minutes each. Accept it on your first day in the ridge — every day you delay pushes your evolution timeline back a day.

Full mechanics, stats and skill breakdown live on the Infernowolf dex page.

Farming Undying Wolf Souls

Evolution needs 6 Undying Wolf Souls — dropped by Blazewolf Champions:

  • Location: the three-way fork up and to the right of the Wolffang Ridge teleporter.
  • Condition: Champions spawn in daytime; if the fork looks empty, adjust the in-game clock.
  • Rule: kill, do not capture — captured Champions drop nothing.
  • Efficiency trick: use the Big Yellow Duck gadget to group multiple Champions and burn the pack in one rotation; then teleport away and return to reset spawns. Six souls plus one Evolution Stone completes the evolution.

Budget a session for the farm; drop rates are probabilistic, and the duck loop is the community's answer to tedium.

A note on the iridescent event

An iridescent Infernowolf rotates through the game via a limited event window (currently announced for mid-October — dates on the event post). Inheritance carries your base-form investment to the iridescent form, but shiny and appearance resources do not transfer — so hold those costs until the event, per the training discipline.

Route summary

  1. Arrive → accept Fighter quest (night, link the pup).
  2. Day: Champions at the triple fork — duck, group, kill, repeat for souls.
  3. Storm watch: thunderstorm Warwolf when the sky cooperates.
  4. Capture sweeps: Gloomflame ×15 for the Phantom Flame, Mirawing in the northeastern woodland, Icefang corridor laps.
  5. Boss loop for seals while timers cool.

The ridge rewards planning more than power — and it pays out the single most valuable free Breaker in the game. Worth every trip.
